Time to reflect

Sometimes life just can’t help kick you to the curb, especially when you are very happy. I haven’t had the time or inclination to post anything since I got back from vacation.

The Monday after a vacation is always a chore, but I returned to find that one of my co-workers had been killed. This was not some tragic accident, but the work of some yet unknown jerk who thought they had the right to take someone’s life. I am indeed being kind in labeling this person a jerk, what I really feel is not fit to print or repeat. The life of a very talented man was taken way too soon, leaving behind a wife and young daughter. I do hope that when this person is found that punishment is long lasting and painful.

If that was not bad enough, my stepmother passed away as well. She was very good to me and made me feel welcome at once. She will be greatly missed by me and her entire family. Her passing meant that family members who have not been seen in far too long were reunited. It was bittersweet to see so many people and reconnect with them at the occasion of her passing.

So, if I am quiet, please forgive me, but I don’t quite feel up to spending time in cyberspace when i can be connecting with people in person who mean the world to me.

Vacation Pictures

Sorry for the delay, but life has kept me busy.

Nomar Garciaparra signs with Red Sox retires – MLB News – FOX Sports on MSN

I found this via MSN.  I always liked Nomar, so I’m glad to see him retire as a member of the Boston Red Sox.
