据广州市南沙区政府官网2019年7月发布的公告，2019年7月26日上午，专业桥梁检测单位向南沙区交通运输局报告，根据外观检测初步判断，万顷镇乡道Y956(沙民线)沥心沙大桥(中心桩号K3+083)引桥箱梁出现较严重病害，建议立即采取限行措施，限制车货总重15t以上车辆通行。为保障桥梁安全，南沙区交通运输局计划从2019年7月26日下午16:00开始对该桥实施限行车货总重15t以上车辆措施。下一步，南沙区交通运输局将立即组织开展桥梁荷载试验，后续根据桥梁深度检测和荷载试验结果做具体处置。
