基里巴斯外交与移民部表示，由于相关国家航空公司、海关、机场和港口在系统中更新免签信息需要一定时间，预计基对中国公民免签政策将于10月中下旬正式落地生效。

此外，如中国公民单次在基停留超过30天，需向基移民局申请延长停留期，延期时长最多60天。
